Wedding Bells…Kat & Jeff…

OK, so I know I haven’t posted in a while, and it is not because I haven’t wanted to, it’s just been that hectic!  But, now I am here to make up for it…:-)  I had the terrific opportunity to work with two wonderful people, Kat & Jeff, on their beautiful Autumn wedding a weekend ago.  After having 4 straight days of rain leading up to their special day, Friday the 8th was just perfect – blue skies, not a drop of rain and a nice comfortable temperature.  The ceremony was held at the quaint Alvirne Chapel in Hudson, NH and then we followed up with some nice private shots at the Alvirne Hills House which was a terrific pick by the bride…:-)

So, enough blabbing about, onto the shots – hope you all love them!

Take care everyone – talk to you soon!

Boston-Portsmouth Air Show

My family and I had the enjoyment of visiting the Boston-Portsmouth Air Show yesterday!  My wife and I hadn’t been to an air show in well over 15 years and our kids had never been to one so when I was given the chance to buy some tickets to a local show that was going to feature the Navy’s Blue Angels, I couldn’t pass them up!  The ride to the show was supposed to take 1.5 hours – well, after that last 8 miles of the trip took a little over 2 hours, it turned into a 3.5 hour trip but luckily the Blue Angels were set to fly last…:-)

Now let me also say, this type of photography is not my strong point – I don’t have the super telephoto lenses that are required to get the really good shots, but I was very happy with what I came away with.  I have split the photos up into 3 different gallery sets so I can do a little explanation between each.  The first set is of my kids enjoying the show…:-)  Also, be sure to look at the prices of the items – let’s just say it cost a pretty penny to stay hydrated!

This next set is a mixture of a couple of different planes, items and crowd shots.  The first couple are a closeup of a propeller and the business end of a F-16 – neither of which you want your fingers anywhere near when in operation!!  The next couple are of Sean Tucker in the Oracle Aerobatics biplane ( http://www.poweraerobatics.com) – that little plane did everything you can imagine!  Then there are a few shots of the Army Golden Knights skydivers.  Then came one of the loudest parts of the show – a nice long demonstration of the USAF F-15E Strike Eagle (see above the shot of my son holding his ears – even with that you could FEEL the sound) – I truly enjoyed this…:-)   Then came the B-25 Panchito Bomber – slick looking old bomber!  Then came Rob Holland ( http://www.ultimateairshows.com ) in a nice little aerobatic plane – check out the last two shots – I REALLY want the guys job in that lead Cessna – I can only imagine the pictures he was getting from there!!!

And now (just like at the actual show) I saved the best for last – the US Navy/Marines Fat Albert & Blue Angels!  If you have never heard of these guys (living in a cave are we?) they are some of the most elite pilots around doing stunts at 300+ MPH in very expensive jets…they were so much fun to watch, hear and just plain marvel at.  I wish I could say that these pictures portray how awesome these guys really are, but they don’t – they really are something you just have to witness in person – that being said, I did my best to catch some of the formations and how close they really are to each other…hope you like them!!

All in all, it was an awesome day that the kids (and even my wife and I) will remember for a long time.  See you all soon…:-)

Wedding Bells…Amy & Ronny…

While some people have a phobia of Friday the 13th, Amy & Ronny sure didn’t and they had one of the most beautiful weddings a couple could ask for!  It was a beautiful day and everything else fell perfectly into place for a terrific day with family and friends.  It was great working with you both and meeting everyone – thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of your special day…:-)

Now – enough talking – onto some shots!

Honoring all the Little Heroes out there…

Over the last 3 or 4 months I have been honored to be part of the Littlest Heroes Project, which is now the ‘Inspiration thru Art Project.’   When I first joined on to be one of the photographers, the organization was dedicated to helping families find photographers in their area to donate their time and some prints.  They have now expanded their goals (sweeeeet) to include more then just photo sessions for the heroes!  They are now offering programs and volunteer opportunities for children, teens, and adults who also want to give back, but don’t do photography.  Inspiration Through Art is also now offering special traveling art sessions for children who are currently in treatment in various participating hospitals.  If you want to learn more just click here.

Now, I can’t leave without a few pictures too…here are a few pics from the sessions I have been part of – each of them amazing, enlightening and just plain fun…:-)  Hope you enjoy the shots – talk to you all soon!

Engagement Session – Rachel & Tim

On Sunday I had the pleasure of spending a few hours with Rachel and Tim to do their engagement session…it was a terrific day all around!  The weather was terrific as we romaed around the Jaffrey/Rindge area looking for spots to shoot and have some fun.  Picking a few short words to depict Rachel and Tim would certainly be “laid back” and it really comes through on the shots – they were relaxed and we all shared quite a few laughs and stories as the day went on.  It was great working with both of you and I cannot wait until 06-10-11 for the wedding!!

And to make this even sweeter for Rachel and Tim, lets help them out…if they can get 20 comments on this post, they will get $20 towards prints – you want to help them out, right?  :-)

So – without delaying this any longer, here are some shots from the session, hope you guys love them as much as we do!!
